Is Livestorm legit? What checks out, and what to watch
By Jean Luc Poitier, SEO and growth marketing strategist · Livestorm Reviews · Updated October 1, 2026 · Checked November 1, 2026 · Company records, trust center, and review data
Yes. Livestorm is a real company with a real product: a French software firm founded in 2016, funded by known investors, audited, profitable in 2024 and 2025, and certified to ISO/IEC 27001:2022. On the review platforms' own pages it averages 4.4 on G2, 4.7 on Capterra, and 4.6 on Gartner Peer Insights.
The critical reviews center on contract terms: annual plans that renew unless you give 90 days' notice, price rises at renewal, and no refunds for unused credits. Read those terms before you sign.

Livestorm's security and data protection
Livestorm's trust center (security.livestorm.co) lists two frameworks: ISO/IEC 27001:2022, renewed from the 2013 version, and GDPR. Its legal notice names Amazon Web Services in Ireland as the host, and the help center says account data sits in EU databases, backed up every 24 hours. Paid add-ons let you pick an EU or US region for video servers and turn on SAML SSO.
Two limits matter for security reviews. The detailed documents (a pentest report, a network diagram, and a security whitepaper) are only open to Enterprise customers under NDA. And Livestorm doesn't publish a SOC 2 report: the SOC 2 line in its security help article is about its payment processor. Some third-party "security profile" sites list SOC 2, HIPAA, or FedRAMP for Livestorm; nothing on its own pages supports that. Its help article also still mentions the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield, which the EU's top court struck down in 2020.
The trust center also warns that some users and former users have had phone calls from people claiming to work for Livestorm. The company says they aren't its staff and asks you to report such calls to help@livestorm.co.
Livestorm ratings and awards
On the platforms' own pages, Livestorm averages 4.4 on G2 (1,700+ reviews), 4.7 on Capterra (400), and 4.6 on Gartner Peer Insights (79). Trustpilot is the outlier at 2.7 from 26 reviews. That score mostly reflects who writes there: in our October 1, 2026 pull, the 8 reviews Livestorm invited average 4.9, and the 18 unprompted ones average 1.8, most of them about renewals and billing. Compare like with like before you read anything into it.
Awards we confirmed on each awarding body's own page:
- Zapier, "Best simple webinar software for running multiple webinars", in The best webinar software for marketers in 2026 (updated July 29, 2026).
- Capterra Shortlist for webinar software, 2024 (published March 27, 2024; Capterra hasn't published a newer edition).
- Software Advice FrontRunners for webinar software, March 2024 (still the latest edition).
We left out the G2 badges shown on livestorm.co (from 2024 and Winter 2025, with newer seasons since and none showing on G2's public pages), a 2021 FT 1000 ranking we couldn't confirm on the FT's site, and a 2021 Forrester ROI study that Livestorm commissioned.
The Livestorm caveats reviewers raise
- Paid plans are annual and renew automatically unless you give 90 days' notice; several reviewers say their plans renewed anyway after they tried to cancel
- Expensive for small teams, and the pricing model has changed under existing customers more than once
- Occasional audio, video, and screen-sharing glitches, often tied to an attendee's connection or browser
- Branding, registration form, and reporting options are more limited than some teams want
- Unused attendee credits expire after a year, and it is hard to predict how many you'll need
The company's numbers add context. Revenue was flat in 2025 (up 0.6%), profit was close to break-even, and headcount slipped from 75 to 72. None of that is a warning sign by itself, and it is worth knowing before you sign an annual contract.
