Quick verdict

Both platforms run in the browser and cover registration pages, reminder emails, polls, and replays. The main difference is how they charge. Livestorm sells yearly packs of attendee credits, and every person in every session, live or on replay, uses one. Demio charges per host and room size, monthly or yearly, and nothing per attendee.

Pick Livestorm if you want a free plan to start, EU hosting with ISO 27001 certification, phone dial-in, or several teams hosting at the same time without buying host seats. Pick Demio if you run webinars every week, want monthly billing, or need sessions longer than 4 hours. Before a yearly Demio contract, read the note on its parent company below.

How Livestorm and Demio charge

Livestorm's Pro plan is a yearly pack of attendee credits, from 400 credits for $1,200 to 4,000 for $9,600. One person joining one session uses one credit, whether they watch live, on replay, or on demand. No-shows and your own team cost nothing, and you can run as many events, with as many colleagues, as you like.

Demio charges for capacity instead. Starter is $45 a month billed yearly, or $63 month to month, for one host and a 50-person room. Growth starts at $80 a month per host billed yearly ($117 monthly) with a 150-person room and adds automated and on-demand webinars, branding, and custom form fields. A host seat is needed for each event running at the same time, and replays and on-demand views are free.

For a steady program, the gap is wide. A weekly webinar with 100 live attendees uses about 5,200 Livestorm credits a year before replays, more than the largest standard Pro pack. The same program fits Demio's Growth plan with a 150-person room. Livestormcomes out ahead when many people host at once, since Demio sells a seat per concurrent host, and for occasional small sessions that fit its free plan.

“Some premium features are limited to higher pricing tiers, which can affect ROI for smaller teams.”Venkat R., Demio review on G2, August 2026

On Demio, captions, transcripts, restreaming, 1080p, custom domains, and the native CRM integrations need Premium, which starts at $196 a month per host and is billed yearly only. The Livestorm HubSpot integration works on every plan.

Livestorm vs Demio contracts and cancelling

Livestorm's paid plans run for 12 months, renew on their own unless you give 90 days' notice, and add 7% a year by default; unused credits don't carry over and aren't refunded. Our guide to cancelling Livestorm has the details.

Demio is more flexible. Starter and Growth can be paid month to month and cancelled in the billing settings, with access until the end of the paid period. Yearly plans renew unless you give 30 days' notice, and Premium changes also need 30 days' notice. Its terms rule out refunds "under any circumstance", with narrow exceptions.

Where Livestorm and Demio keep your data, and who you sign with

Livestorm hosts data in the EU, holds ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification, and is run by Livestorm SAS, a French company that reported a net profit for 2024 and 2025. Demio's help center says its servers are mainly in the US, its parent sends EU data under standard contractual clauses, and it publishes no SOC 2 or ISO 27001 certification. For European or regulated buyers, that difference often settles it.

Demio belongs to Parabolic Technologies (called Banzai International until October 2026), a small Nasdaq-listed company. Its report for the second quarter of 2026 says recurring losses "raise substantial doubt regarding the Company's ability to continue as a going concern". That is a reason to prefer monthly billing over a long prepaid term, though it doesn't mean Demio is going away.
