Quick verdict

BigMarker is the bigger platform: audiences in the tens of thousands, evergreen and always-on webinars, broadcast-style production, and tools for in-person and hybrid events. It is sold by quote on yearly contracts. Livestorm is the one you can price and start today, with a free plan, EU hosting, and ISO 27001 certification.

Pick BigMarker if you need more than 3,000 live attendees, evergreen funnels, or one vendor for online and in-person events, and you are comfortable with a sales process. Pick Livestorm if you run regular webinars for audiences under 3,000, want published prices, or need your data hosted in the EU. Reviewers rate BigMarker higher on both G2 and Capterra.

How you buy Livestorm vs BigMarker

Livestorm sells online: a free plan, then Pro packs of attendee credits from $1,200 a year. BigMarker has no public sign-up and publishes no prices. Its current plan page lists Webcast Basic, Professional, and Enterprise, with 1, up to 4, and up to 100 host licenses; an older pricing page that is still live uses different plan names. Both say "Request pricing".

BigMarker's subscription agreement sets the terms: payment a year in advance by default, fees that are "non-cancelable" and "non-refundable", and quantities that can't be reduced during the term. Prices are fixed for the first year and can change after that with 30 days' notice, and a renewal at lower volume is re-priced from scratch. To stop a renewal you need to give 30 days' written notice, against 90 days for Livestorm.

Livestorm vs BigMarker audience size and webinar formats

Livestorm caps a session at 3,000 live attendees. BigMarker's plan table lists 1,000 on Webcast Basic, 10,000 on Professional, and 500,000 on Enterprise, with unlimited registrants. Large BigMarker sessions run as broadcasts: past 250 registrants or 100 live attendees it switches the audience to webcast mode, with a 10 to 15 second delay, and its lower-latency modes are limited to 250 attendees.

BigMarker also offers more ways to run a webinar without being there: automated sessions that play video, chat, polls, and offers on a timeline; evergreen webinars that start when a visitor arrives or at fixed intervals; and always-open 24-7 rooms. Those formats start on Webcast Professional. Livestorm's Pro plan covers on-demand events and event automation that starts a session and plays a recording on schedule.

Livestorm vs BigMarker data hosting and security

Livestorm hosts data in the EU and holds ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification. BigMarker says it maintains SOC 2 Type II compliance, which Livestorm doesn't publish, but its data processing addendum puts primary processing in the US on AWS, and it describes ISO 27001 as the basis of its security framework rather than a certification. For EU buyers with data residency rules, Livestorm is the safer default unless BigMarker commits to EU hosting in writing.
