Why teams look past Zoom Webinars
Most Zoom Webinars reviewers are satisfied: it rates 4.6 on Capterra from 6,053 reviews, and the 9 organic G2 reviews from the 12 months to September 30, 2026 average 4.7. The complaints that recur are about price and design control:
“The pricing can also be relatively high compared to simpler webinar tools. Additionally, customization options for branding and event experience are somewhat limited.”Maria G., Zoom Events and Webinars review on G2, April 2026
Then the app, which some attendees would rather not install:
“for mobile use you need to download their app which i think leads to user loss”Kruti K., Zoom Events and Webinars review on G2, July 2025
And features that sit in a higher tier, such as pre-recorded sessions:
“It would be nice if Zoom offered a way to simulate live experiences, like other providers do.”Ty P., Zoom Events and Webinars review on G2, October 2025
Zoom does offer simulive sessions, but only on Webinars Plus and Zoom Events, which cost more than the base Webinars plan. Setup for larger events is the other common thread:
“The interface takes a bit to get used to as someone setting up the event. It's messy and takes time to learn where everything is.”Audrey M., Zoom Events and Webinars review on G2, April 2026

When to stay with Zoom Webinars
Stay if your company already pays for Zoom Workplace, one or two people run frequent webinars, you need audiences above 3,000 or sessions longer than 4 hours, or you rely on its HIPAA agreement or SOC 2 report. A Zoom license doesn't charge per attendee, so a busy host pays less than on most alternatives here.
If your audience is mostly outside your company, or several people host, Livestorm is the closest fit. Read its full review record, critical reviews included, first. If Livestorm does not fit either, see our Livestorm alternatives.
See Livestorm pricingHow we sourced this: on October 1, 2026 we pulled the 100 most recent G2 reviews of Zoom Events and Webinars (August 18, 2022 to May 19, 2026; G2 labels 41 of them organic and 56 invited by G2 or Zoom). Zoom's Trustpilot page covers the whole company, mostly its meetings app, so we don't use it. Quotes are verbatim. Prices and plans come from each vendor's own pages on the same date.
